What is Juläine?
Juläine is a unique biostimulator based on poly-L-lactic acid known for its small and smooth particles. PLLA stimulates the skin to produce its own collagen, gradually making the skin firmer, smoother and more resilient.
Due to the fine and smooth PLLA particles, Juläine can also be targeted for skin firming and improvement of skin quality under the eyes and around the mouth. The goal is not to change the face, but to support and subtly strengthen the skin from the inside out.
Unlike fillers, Juläine does not work directly with volume, but rather regeneratively and improves skin quality from within by increasing firmness and elasticity. The result builds up in the months following the treatment and therefore looks natural.
Who is the treatment suitable for?
A Juläine treatment is appropriate if you:

How many treatments you need depends on your skin and goal. On average, there are 2 to 3. For a preventive goal, 1 treatment is sufficient. During the consultation you will get a personal indication.

Course of a Juläine treatment
Curious about how a treatment with Juläine goes at DokterEs? Here are the steps we go through with you:
During the intake and skin analysis, we discuss your needs, review your skin condition, and the cosmetic doctor assesses which treatment(s) are most appropriate for you. Together, a personalized treatment plan is drawn up.
Juläine is injected with a fine cannula directly under the skin into the face, neck or décolleté. The treatment takes an average of 30 minutes and is usually not considered painful.
Afterwards, the cosmetic doctor provides comprehensive advice on aftercare. Some mild swelling and some fluid retention may occur after treatment. Daily massage as recommended with Sculptra is not necessary,
The best results require an average of 1-3 treatments at 6-8 week intervals. This depends on the purpose of the treatment: preventive or regenerative.
Thereafter, a maintenance of 1 treatment per year is advised. The number of materials required per session depends on personal skin condition and wishes and will always be discussed with the doctor in advance.

In contrast to Sculptra, Julaine can also be used specifically for skin firming and improvement of skin quality under the eyes and around the mouth due to its fine PLLA particles.
The treatment is generally well tolerated. An anesthetic is often used to improve comfort.
There is usually limited downtime. Swelling, redness or small bruises may occur temporarily.
Although exercise is allowed, intense exercise is usually discouraged for the first 24 hours due to risk of increased swelling.
