For optimal results, most skin problems require several sessions. The number depends on the indication as well as the skin tone, the treatment area, and everyone's personal reaction to the laser. The number of sessions required is always estimated by the practitioner and discussed with you beforehand during the consultation. Often there is already visible improvement after one to a few sessions. With proper aftercare, the results remain visible for a long time.

Course of laser treatment
Our laser treatments proceed in the following steps:
During the initial consultation, we determine which laser and settings are appropriate for your skin and treatment needs.
The skin is thoroughly cleaned and surrounding areas are protected, such as by wearing safety glasses. With the VPL laser, a contact gel is applied.
The duration of treatment depends on the treatment area and number of zones. Depending on the type of laser and the treatment indication, you will feel little to at most some heat from the laser and a feeling as if a rubber band is shooting against the skin with each flash. However, our lasers have very strong cooling systems, so pain remains minimal.
Depending on the type of treatment and laser, mild skin reactions may occur. Generally, these consist only of slight redness of the skin, which disappears after 1 to 2 days. Sometimes small blue spots (with laser treatment of vessels), a temporary brown discoloration (with pigmentation spots) and/or slight swelling may occur.
During the consultation, the skin therapist will discuss in detail what to expect and what aftercare recommendations you should follow for optimal recovery.

The number of treatments depends on the skin problem:
- Pigmentation spots: 1-3 sessions
- Fine lines and wrinkles: 3-6 sessions
- Rosacea/vascular: 1-4 sessions
- Diffuse redness: 3-6 sessions
The number of sessions required is always discussed in advance during the consultation.
- Pigment removal
With laser treatments, we focus on removing the superficial pigment present. In this process, the laser light breaks down the excess pigment, causing spots to fade or disappear. However, to also regulate the underlying cause of pigmentation and prevent new spots, additional treatment is often needed.
For these, a treatment such as Dermamelan is quite suitable. A peanut butter-like mask for home use, Dermamelan addresses pigmentation itself, working at different levels in the skin and helping to control pigmentation for a long time. Thus, laser and Dermamelan often work nicely together for long-lasting and even results.
- Rosacea/vessels and redness: Treated vessels usually stay away for a long time. However, new vessels may appear over time due to predisposition. We recommend a maintenance treatment once every 6 months.
Proper skincare with high-quality products and sun protection help maintain results.

- Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks prior to each treatment.
- Stop using intensive skin products, such as retinol and acids for at least one week before treatment.
- Report medication use, such as blood thinners and anti-biotics prior to each session.
- A skin analysis is essential for a safe and effective treatment plan.
