About our treatments
During your initial consultation, you will meet with one of our cosmetic physicians and/or skin therapist. We listen carefully to your question, analyze your skin with our special 3D scan and give honest and clear advice. Together we look at the possibilities and draw up a treatment plan that fully meets your personal wishes, goals and budget.
You then have the choice to proceed to treatment, or to think a little more before scheduling it.
It is often possible to perform the treatment immediately if desired. We will explain to you step by step what we are going to do and once again go over all aftercare recommendations with you after the treatment. During the entire consultation there is plenty of room to ask all your questions.
Prior to any treatment, we always schedule an initial consultation, where we perform a comprehensive skin analysis and work together to determine the best options to suit your needs.
We create a customized consultation and treatment plan for now and in the long term, specifically focused on your skin condition and achieving your desired results.
Most treatments are very well tolerated. If necessary, we use an anesthetic cream or local anesthetic. You will always be informed about this in advance.
This varies by treatment. Some treatments allow you to resume your daily activities immediately; others require several days to a week of recovery time. Treatments with a longer recovery time are lipofilling, surgical eyelid surgery and CO2 laser treatments. We always discuss this prior to treatment and provide clear aftercare instructions.
Yes. At DokterEs , we work exclusively with qualified specialists and scientifically proven safe and effective treatment methods and products. We always act according to medical guidelines and protocols.
In many cases, it is certainly possible to combine several treatments during one appointment. This can be a combination of injectables at the cosmetic doctor, a comprehensive and personalized treatment protocol at the skin therapist, or a combination of beauty treatments at the beautician. It is also possible to book your appointments with our various specialists consecutively. Here we always take into account the correct order of treatment, to help you as well and efficiently as possible.
Did you know that it is even possible to book a combination consultation, where you will be helped by both the cosmetic doctor and skin therapist as early as your first consultation? The advantage of this consultation is that we can fully coordinate our expertises in drawing up your personal treatment plan in order to offer you the best possible skin improvement within our total concept.
Sure! At DokterEs , we have experience with all skin types and skin tones. When necessary, we customize the treatment technique or intensity to your skin for safe results.
Botox has been extensively scientifically researched and has been used in the medical field for decades for such things as muscle spasms, an overactive bladder, and excessive sweating. Botox has been shown to be a very safe agent (if applied properly, of course), even with long-term use. In addition, effects of botox are temporary. Efficacy varies between 3 and 5 months.
eel people are afraid that your face will "collapse" once you stop using injectables. Or "that it will be worse than it actually would be if you hadn't started." When you stop botox and/or filler treatments after a one-time treatment or after years of treatment, your face just goes back to how it is without botox or fillers, but with a big advantage. The benefit is that during the time you were using botox and/or fillers, you slowed the aging process by allowing the skin to repair wrinkles or nourished the skin and tissue with hyaluronic acid-based fillers. This (temporary) delay is maintained. The aging process does continue again at a rate appropriate to you after the treatments stop. So everyone is free to stop injectables at any time.
Fear of an unnatural result is one of the most common reasons that keeps someone from visiting a cosmetic doctor. An unnatural result occurs when the limits of natural boundaries are not guarded and respected. At DokterEs , the natural boundaries of beauty are guarded and respected. This means that the goal is to restore balance to a face rather than a determined desire to "tighten." This creates a rested fresh look, but also preserves the individual character of the face as well as the facial expression.
The answer is no. This largely depends on the amount of botox. However, Botox can be dosed very well. In addition, the degree of "how natural" it looks also depends very much on where botox is injected. It is very well possible to undergo treatments with botox to soften wrinkles while maintaining facial expressions.
There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. In fact, this is very personal. First, because everyone experiences aging differently. Secondly, because everyone ages differently and at different rates. So it very much depends on your wishes and purpose of the treatments. Nevertheless, there are a few things we can establish. First, it is true that wrinkles get deeper the longer a treatment is waited, and deeper wrinkles require more treatments and patience to soften them. In addition, superficial wrinkles often require less intensive and less frequent treatment to keep them soft. Secondly, severe loss of volume sometimes also causes additional folds and wrinkles that do not appear if treated in a timely manner. However, what is the right time for someone remains very personal.
Botox is not usually injected into lips. Filler is usually injected into lips. Indeed, when treating lips, the goal is often to make them slightly fuller. When talking about botox in the lips, filler is often meant.
So is botox never used in the lip at all? Yes, smoker's lines (the vertical lines above the lips - fold lines in the skin that are created when the lips are pursed) can be softened by relaxing the muscle of the lip that creates these lines, causing the skin to fold less during purses. With this treatment, however, extreme care and conservatism must be taken with the amount of botox injected because too much botox can make certain letters (for example, the "p") more difficult to pronounce.
Preventive botox refers to treatments with botox that prevent wrinkles before they appear. This may go a bit far. Starting botox when the first lines appear is still plenty of time. Even then, lines disappear almost completely after the first treatment. DokterEs therefore does not recommend treatments with botox before wrinkles appear.
Botox is a muscle relaxant. Botox is injected locally into a muscle. It allows the wrinkles in the skin to relax because the folding is reduced as the underlying muscle attached to the skin relaxes. Wrinkles that can be softened with botox include frown lines, forehead wrinkles, crow's feet, and chin lines,
Fillers, as the name implies, is a "filler," i.e., a volume restorer. It restores volume to the face, and it can fill lines and wrinkles that are not suitable to be filled with botox. Thus, you can restore volume loss and wrinkles with fillers of, for example, a nasolabial fold, corners of the mouth, cheeks, eye bags, temples, lips, cheek lines, etc.
Frequently asked questions after treatments
BOTOX
Some things to consider after treatment:
Time after treatment | What to do/don't do |
| 24 Hours | Avoid exercising with perspiration; you don't have to stay out of the sun. |
1 week | Avoid sauna and hot yoga (heat >65 degrees). Do not undergo facials. Do not undergo permanent eyebrow makeup treatment if the frown region is treated. |
2 weeks | Wait with (connective tissue) massages of the face. |
This question is often asked. You can undergo botox treatment just fine in the summer or in hot and sunny weather. You don't need to avoid sun exposure. What do you do need to avoid? The sauna. In the first week after treatment, Botox can't yet withstand extreme heat like in the sauna, however, warm weather is not a problem, so you can feel free to enjoy the sun, but don't forget to protect the skin!
The results of a botox treatment are sometimes visible after only a few days. After two weeks, the botulinum toxin has its optimal effect and the results become clearer. On average, the botox remains effective for 3 to 6 months. This differs per person and has to do with everyone's own metabolism. The effect will slowly decrease a little bit during these months.
Because it is so gradual and you sometimes forget what it was like before you underwent treatment, this effect is especially easy to see in before and after photos. With repeated treatments, you may find that the result is maintained a little longer each time.
At DokterEs We maintain transparent rates. Prices are calculated per treatment zone. During the consultation we discuss which zones you want to treat and which regions we recommend for the desired result. Based on that we give a clear price indication. 1 zone of botox costs €175 Read more about rates here.
Botox has been used safely and effectively for both medical and cosmetic purposes since the 1970s. Therefore, a botox treatment is very safe when performed by an experienced physician. At DokterEsWe work according to strict medical guidelines to ensure the best results.
Both fillers and botox are safe and effective treatments used particularly for creating and maintaining a fresh, young and naturally beautiful appearance. However, it can sometimes be difficult to distinguish what they both do/don't do. We therefore list the differences for you:
- Fillers: Are used to add volume and improve contours. Suitable for volume loss or filling wrinkles. In addition, hyaluronic acid fillers have a skin-enhancing effect and occur naturally in the body.
- Botox: Reduces wrinkles and lines by relaxing the action of muscles, but does not add volume. Suitable for dynamic wrinkles caused by mimicry, such as frown lines, forehead lines, and crow's feet.

Botox blocks signals from nerves to muscles, causing them to relax.
Normally, your nerves signal your muscles to move, such as to frown. Botox temporarily prevents this signal from arriving. As a result, the muscle relaxes, and the skin above it no longer contracts. Thus, wrinkles caused by movement (such as frown lines or laugh lines) become less visible.
Your body completely breaks down botox after a few months, after which muscle activity returns. Thus, the effect is temporary.
LASER HAIR REMOVAL
This question is often asked. You can undergo a botox or filler treatment just fine in the summer or in hot and sunny weather. You don't have to strictly avoid sun exposure, so you can feel free to enjoy the sunshine, but don't forget to protect your skin!
Why. After treatment with Botox or fillers, the skin and underlying tissue does suffer some injury from the injections and is therefore slightly more sensitive to the sun. As a result, the skin will burn more quickly. So it is wise to protect the skin from the sun using a sunscreen and to wear a protective hat or stay in the shade as much as possible during prolonged exposure to the sun. By the way, avoiding unprotected exposure to the sun is wise at all to prevent skin aging.
Tanning beds and extreme sun exposure are not recommended for the first few days after a filler treatment. This increases the risk of developing pigmentation spots.
Intensive exercise and going into the sauna are also not recommended for the first few days after treatment. The reason: these activities cause the blood flow and temperature in the body to increase, which can result in the botox being drained before it has had a chance to take effect. There will then be less or no results. In the case of a filler treatment, you are more likely to experience temporary swelling due to the increased blood flow.
After laser hair removal, it is best to stay out of direct sun for at least 2 weeks. This advice applies both before and after treatment:
Beforehand: no sun or tanning bed for at least 2 weeks to reduce the risk of pigment shifts (hyper- or hypopigmentation).
Afterwards: avoid sun for at least 2 weeks, as your skin is more sensitive after the laser treatment and may react faster with irritation or pigmentation.
If you do find yourself outside, always use a high SPF (at least factor 30, preferably 50) on the treated areas or wear covering clothing. For darker skin types or treatments in the summer, your practitioner may sometimes advise you to be careful for even longer.
In a nutshell:
🌞 2 weeks of no sun or tanning before and after your laser treatment
🌞 Always use SPF and protect skin properly
Avoid sun and tanning beds:
No direct sun on the treated area for at least 2 weeks after treatment. Always use a high SPF (30-50).
Do not exfoliate or peel:
The skin may be sensitive. Wait a few days before using scrubs, peels or aggressive skin care.
No perfume or perfumed products:
This can cause additional irritation on the treated skin.
Laser hair removal can lead to a significant reduction in hair growth, especially for dark hair on light skin.
- On average, 6 to 8 treatments are required
- Sessions take place at intervals of 4 to 6 weeks
- A maintenance treatment is recommended every 6 to 12 months
Effectiveness depends on:
- Hair color and thickness
- Skin Type
- Personal factors such as hormones (e.g., PCOS), metabolism, compliance with aftercare recommendations, genes, etc.
Therefore, 100% permanent hair reduction can never be guaranteed. The assumption is 80%-95% hair reduction after treatment.
Not all hair types (such as gray, white or light blonde hair) respond to the laser. This is discussed in advance during the intake.
Laser hair removal treatments at DokterEs are generally not considered painful. Both of our lasers have a built-in cooling system, which automatically cools the skin with each flash.
The sensation of the flash is commonly described as a rubber band shot against the skin or a mini needle prick. This lasts only a fraction of a second each time.
Of course, everyone's sensation is different. Therefore, our skin therapist will always take into account your personal sensation and adjust the laser appropriately for safe but effective results.
At DokterEs We maintain transparent rates. Prices are calculated per zone and per session. In addition, we offer combination packages, where you receive benefits when lasering multiple zones at the same time. An overview of all our laser hair removal rates can be found here.
Laser hair removal is a very safe treatment, but only in well-trained knowledge with the right knowledge and experience in the field of laser hair removal.
Pigment spots after laser hair removal are usually caused by a disruption of the pigment (melanin) in your skin. This can have several causes:
- Sun exposure: if your skin is exposed to the sun shortly before or after treatment, the risk of hyperpigmentation (dark spots) greatly increases.
- Excessive energy settings: improperly set laser equipment can introduce too much heat into the skin, activating or damaging pigment cells.
- Dark skin types: darker skin has more melanin present, which increases the risk of pigment reactions if the treatment is not properly tailored.
- Irritation or wounds: if the skin becomes irritated or small burns occur, this can lead to inflammatory reactions and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Therefore, it is important to carefully analyze your skin beforehand, choose the right settings and use sun protection carefully.
Choosing the best laser for laser hair removal depends mainly on your skin type, hair color, and the area to be treated. The Alexandrite laser and the Nd:YAG laser are considered the most effective lasers for permanent hair removal.
The Alexandrite laser (755 nm) is very powerful for lighter skin types (skin types I-III) and optimally targets the pigment in the hair root. This laser works quickly and often gives visibly smooth results after just a few sessions.
On the contrary, the Nd:YAG laser (1064 nm) is better suited for darker skin types (IV-VI). This wavelength penetrates deeper into the skin and bypasses superficial pigment, making it safe for dark or sun-tanned skin.
The best choice is always a laser that is professionally set based on a skin and hair analysis. At DokterEs , we therefore work with the most advanced lasers and tailor the treatment plan to your unique skin and needs. This way you can safely achieve a long-lasting smooth result.

Laser hair removal is popular for both men and women seeking long-lasting smooth skin without shaving or waxing. The most commonly chosen treatment areas are the armpits, legs and intimate areas.
A combination treatment of the Brazilian, armpits, and lower legs is especially often booked, as these areas together provide optimal comfort and a groomed appearance.
By treating multiple areas at once, you benefit from a combination package at a more affordable rate.
For intimate hair removal, you can choose between a bikini laser treatment and a Brazilian laser treatment.
In bikini laser hair removal, only the hairs along the bikini line are removed. Brazilian laser hair removal goes further and treats the entire pubic area, including the pubic area, buttock seam and possibly around the anus. Here you can choose whether to keep a small stripe or have everything completely smoothed out.
After a laser hair removal treatment, you usually see results after 1 to 3 weeks. During this period, the treated hairs fall out on their own. It then seems for a while as if all hairs are gone-and that is indeed a very nice effect, especially if, for example, you go on vacation and want a smooth result.
It is important to note that some of the hair will return over time. This is because only the hairs in the active growth phase (about 20-30% of all hairs) are permanently destroyed during a session. Therefore, multiple treatments are required for long-lasting results.
Summary:
✅ After 1-3 weeks, all treated hairs fall out-your skin feels smooth and stubble-free.
✅ After a few weeks, some hairs grow back because not all hairs are actively growing at the same time.
✅ After an average of 6-8 treatments, 80-90% of hair growth is permanently reduced.
Tip: Want to take full advantage of that hair-free phase? Then schedule your treatment 3-4 weeks before your vacation. That way you can enjoy smooth skin without shaving or waxing during your trip.
Laser hair removal gives long-lasting results, but it is not always 100 percent permanent. How long it works varies from person to person and depends on factors such as hormones, hair type, and body area.
✅ After a full course of treatment averages 6-8 treatments:
– 80-90% of hairs are gone for long periods of time.
- The hairs that still return are often thinner, softer and less visible.
✅ Maintenance:
- Many people choose to have maintenance treatments 1-2 times a year to maintain optimal results.
✅ Lifetime effect:
- For most areas, you can count on years of less to no hair growth, especially in the armpits, bikini line and legs.
- Hormones (e.g., pregnancy, menopause or medication) can still cause new hairs to develop over time.
In short, laser hair removal works for most people for years, provided you follow a full course of treatment and do maintenance as needed.
FILLER
Some things to consider after treatment:
Time after treatment | What to do/don't do |
8 Hours | Rather wait with makeup until the next day |
24 Hours | No sports or strenuous exercise if there is swelling or pain. This can make the swelling or pain worse. Cooling is allowed for swelling/blueness/redness/sensitivity. Note: Do not use frozen materials directly on the skin, but wrap in a towel/tissue. |
1 week | You don't have to stay out of the sun , but protect your skin well with SPF if you get in the sun. Avoid heat sources like sauna. Wait with (connective tissue) massages and facials until the skin has recovered. |
The results of a filler treatment are often already (partially) visible immediately but will often improve further over the months. This is because in addition to restoring volume or softening wrinkles, the hyaluronic acid filler has a beautiful side effect. Hyaluronic acid also has a positive effect on the quality of the skin and underlying tissues. Skin hydration improves and the skin feels firmer. This often results in the softening of fine wrinkles and a beautiful glow. This takes time, sometimes up to 5 months, and so is not an immediate result.
Because it is so gradual and you sometimes forget what it was like before you underwent the treatment, this effect is especially easy to see in before and after photos. The effect of fillers lasts an average of 6 to 18 months, depending on the area treated and the filler product used. With repeated treatments, you may find that the result is maintained a little longer each time.
At DokterEsWe maintain transparent rates. Prices are calculated per quantity in ml. During the consultation we discuss which areas you want to treat, how many ml is needed for the desired result and give a clear price indication. The smallest amount of 1ml costs €425 and that goes up to €1,700 for 5ml. Read more about the rates here.
