PRP treatment hair: the solution against hair loss at DokterEs
Are you experiencing thinning hair? At DokterEs , we understand how critical your hair is to your self-confidence. With PRP treatment, we stimulate hair growth and improve scalp condition in a completely natural way, with the personalized care you deserve.
What is a PRP treatment for hair?
PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. In this innovative technique, we use the powerful growth factors from your own blood to revitalize hair follicles. It is a safe, medical method that improves blood circulation in the scalp and reactivates dormant hair follicles, without the use of chemical additives.
The principle behind PRP: your body helps itself
- Blood Draw
We will take a small amount of blood from you, similar to a standard blood test. - Centrifuge
Blood is centrifuged to separate and concentrate platelets and growth factors. - Injection
The scalp is numbed. The concentrated plasma is injected with extreme precision into the scalp where it stimulates hair growth.
A PRP treatment offers:
- A restorative: uses the natural healing power of your own body.
- Safety: no risk of allergic reactions because it is endogenous to the body.
- Effectiveness: direct nutrition for the hair roots.
Who is a PRP hair treatment suitable for?
"With our PRP treatments that stimulate hair growth, we often also support medications for the best results."

PRP treatment women: specific benefits
In women, hair loss is often diffuse (spread throughout the scalp). PRP treatment is particularly effective for women because it improves overall density without the need for surgery. It is a gentle, safe method of addressing female hair loss associated with hormonal fluctuations. In some cases, PRP treatment is supported with hair fillers for optimal results.
The treatment plan
Curious about how a PRP treatment goes at DokterEs? Here are the steps we go through with you:
We discuss your needs and analyze the scalp to create a personalized treatment plan. Medication support and the use of appropriate shampoos are also discussed. In some cases, laboratory tests are done.
The procedure takes about 45 minutes. A small amount of blood is drawn from you through a vein in the arm. This goes into a sterile tube and then into a centrifuge. After a few minutes, the Platelet Rich Plasma is separated and immediately ready for use. After numbing the scalp, the PRP is injected into the scalp.
You are given immediate instructions for at home. Recovery time is minimal. You can resume your daily activities.
After the course of treatment, we review the results together and plan any necessary maintenance.
Aftercare: do's & don'ts
"Especially in the early stages, hair growth can be well stimulated!"
When the first results?
Results of PRP are visible gradually. Because we follow the natural hair growth cycle, after about 3 to 6 months you will notice that the hair feels thicker and the loss decreases. For optimal results, we often recommend a course of 3 treatments.
How long does it work?
The effect of a course of treatment remains visible for an average of 10 to 12 months. Because the natural aging process continues, we recommend one maintenance treatment annually to maintain volume.
Frequently asked questions about PRP hair treatments
Avoid strenuous physical activity, sauna, swimming and direct sunlight for the first 48 hours to avoid irritation.
We usually recommend a start-up course of 3 treatments at 4-6 week intervals, followed by one maintenance treatment per year.
Wait at least 24 hours before washing your hair so that the plasma can be absorbed optimally by the scalp.
The first improvements in hair quality are often visible after 3 months. The full growth boost is optimal after 6 months.
PRP does not permanently stop the genetic predisposition to hair loss. When stopped, the hair process will eventually return to its natural rate.
PRP is very effective for Androgenetic Alopecia (hereditary baldness). In other forms of alopecia, it depends on the active hair follicles; I am happy to discuss this during a consultation.
